Yacht Skipper

Yacht Skippers are employed by sailing centres, sailing schools and sailing holiday companies worldwide.

The RYA (Royal Yachting Association) offer a range of yachting qualifications which are generally recognized as the best route to finding yachting jobs. The RYA Day Skipper qualification and RYA Coastal Skipper qualifications can be taken at RYA recognized training centres in the UK.

The RYA Yachtmaster Offshore certificate of competence is a pre-requisite for the MCA's Officer of the Watch qualification, which enables you to work worldwide on vessels of up to 3000gt. The RYA Yachtmaster Ocean certificate of competence is a pre-requisite for the MCA's Chief Mate, Master 500 and Master 3000 qualifications.
