Description

This is a really exciting time to join Girlguiding. We have much to be proud of in our one hundred years of history, but we know that to remain vibrant and relevant to young people we must continually evolve.

We have begun a process of significant change: transforming the organisation so it can meet the challenges of the future by putting young people at the heart of our organisation. We are on a mission to amplify the voices of girls and young women, so they can champion change in their own lives and the wider world; to build strong partnerships that can increase our reach and impact; and to increase the support we offer our amazing adult volunteers who deliver incredible experiences to young people across the UK every week.

Let fun and adventure be at the heart of your everyday!

We are currently recruiting for enthusiastic & energetic Activity Instructors for our 4 unique & exciting national Activity Centre venues based in Derbyshire, Lancashire, Hampshire & Sussex.

As an Activity Instructor for Girlguiding, you will put fun and adventure at the heart of your delivery, providing effective leadership and instruction to a variety of guest, and engaging with them through exciting and adventurous sessions! These sessions provide a hands-on taster experience and includes everything from canoeing and kayaking to rock climbing and zip wire!

You will have a strong interest in outdoor adventure and take pride in your work, ensuring that the customers’ needs are recognised and prioritised. You will be the public face of Girlguiding, being one of the first points of contact for our customers, and you will regularly work alongside volunteers to support the delivery of Girlguiding’s fun and exciting events, ensuring that the customer experience will be at the heart of what you do.

The ideal candidate will therefore have great attention to detail and be able to work efficiently and thoroughly, whilst maintaining excellent high standards for our guests, and ensuring those first impressions count.

Girlguiding values the differences that a diverse workforce brings and is committed to inclusivity, and to employing and supporting a diverse workforce. Girlguiding is proud to be part of the Stonewall Diversity Champions programme, a member of the Business Disability Forum, and a member of Time to Change. While Girlguiding’s young members may be women only, our staff team is mixed gender. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds.

We are committed to supporting our staff to achieve a good work-life balance and offer flexible working options wherever we reasonably can. Girlguiding is a COVID secure employer, providing support for all employees during the current pandemic. All staff are required to carry out our online health and safety training and complete a DSE risk assessment to ensure we can provide the support you require.

Requirements

Desirably, you will hold 2 NBG qualifications or recognised equivalent (BCU, SPA, UKCC Level 1, BFA grade 1, CWA, GNAS). Girlguiding will train you to acquire the relevant qualifications.

Please still apply for this role if you do not hold any qualifications as Girlguiding can provide training to obtain these qualifications!

For insurance purposes applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old.
