Description
The role of the RAW Programme Manager is to manage all staff, resources and processes to ensure the smooth running of the RAW Adventure Programme. This role is paramount to the success of the camps. You will be in charge of a maxiumum of 40 children, and will also be expetced to lead from the front, facilitating a variety of different outdoor activities, including team building, pioneering, survival techniques and adventure games.
Description of responsibilities:
· Manage and direct staff to ensure policies and procedures are followed, and the children in the care of RAW AC have a fun, stimulating and safe time.
· Ensure that the RAW AC is run in accordance with the aims and ethos introduced in training.
· Liaise with parents in person and by phone with regard to the children’s needs, and feedback on any issues that may arise.
· Ensure children are cared for in a safe and appropriate manner and that quality activities are planned and delivered by staff, with specific regard to the outdoor nature of the program.
Requirements
Requirements:
Ideally educated to degree level with experience, skills and attributes as follows:
· Previous management experience within a childcare/teaching/outdoor education enviroment.
· Outdoor qualifications are desirable, e.g. ML (summer), SPA, BCU Level 1/2 paddlesport coach.
· Outdoor experience is essential, e.g. scouting/guiding, Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, hiking/climbing, camping, watersports.
· Confident and enthusiastic, with the ability to lead and motivate a team in the outdoors.
· Pro-active and flexible.
